Shonchoy

Overview

Shonchoy is a 100% offline expense tracker. Your financial data never leaves your device. We do not operate a server, cloud service, or any online backend. All data is stored locally on your phone or tablet.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Shonchoy does not collect, transmit, or process any personal data. Specifically, we do not use:

• Analytics or telemetry
• Crash reporting services
• Advertising SDKs
• Third-party tracking
• Cloud synchronization
• User accounts or login

Your transactions, accounts, categories, budgets, and all other app data remain exclusively on your device.

Data Storage

All app data is stored locally using:

• Hive database — transactions, categories, accounts, and other app data stored in local files on your device.
• Android Keystore / iOS Keychain — your app lock PIN hash is stored in the platform's secure storage (encrypted at the OS level).

Android Auto-Backup is disabled, so your financial data is not automatically copied to Google Drive.

Permissions

Shonchoy requests the following permissions, each with a clear purpose:

• Biometric (fingerprint / face) — Used only for the optional app lock feature. Your biometric data is handled entirely by the operating system; the app never sees or stores it.
• Notifications — Used only for optional daily spending reminders. No notification data is sent anywhere.
• Vibration — Used for haptic feedback on button presses.

No permission is required for the core functionality of tracking expenses.

Data Backup & Export

Data export (CSV and PDF) is entirely user-initiated. When you choose to export, the generated files are saved to your device's file system or shared via your device's native share sheet. We have no access to these files.

Importing a CSV backup restores data from a file you select. No data is uploaded during this process.

Children's Privacy

Shonchoy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. Since the app collects no data from anyone, this policy applies equally to all age groups.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Since the app is offline-first, any change to data practices would require an app update.
